Teen Recs: The Cousins by Karen McManus
Recommended by Eva M. The Cousins by Karen M. McManus is a page-turning mystery novel that will have you hooked until the very end. Three cousins who have never met each other before are invited to their wealthy grandmother's island resort to work there for the summer. But while they are there they learn many dark secrets about their family's past. The characters were very well described and the author's writing really paints a picture in the reader's head. I highly recommend

Teen Recs: Realm Breaker by Victoria Aveyard
Recommended by Eva M. Realm Breaker is about a group of unexpected citizens from all over the world who have to join together to stop the evil force from taking over the realm. Victoria Aveyard has a very distinct, descriptive writing style and although her writing is able to paint a vivid picture in the reader's mind, it can be a little slow at certain points. I found that there were parts of this book where I didn't feel like reading and had to put the book aside for a whil

Another One Bites the Dust
The thought was that this puzzle was going to take a while to put together, but no it was put together quicker than expected. We were hoping this would take us into November, but no we had to put another out with just a few days left in the month. Except for a little mix up in the tree tops this puzzle was a piece of cake. Great job!

Fall in the Garden
This week in kids storytime we explored pumpkins, which included cutting a few open to see what was inside. While some of the pumpkin seeds went home with the kids to grow their own pumpkins or to eat, the leftovers we decided to share with our furry friends. As you can see in the picture above, the squirrels were very excited to have pumpkin on the menu (without all the work of opening it themselves). Halloween is just around the corner so keep an eye on your jackolanterns,

Fall into a Cozy Puzzle
Our cozy kitchen filled with the smell of backing apples was finished today. Such a lovely puzzle, even if all the pieces were the same shape. Luckily it wasn't as hard as last month's puzzle. Our next puzzle is already out and waiting for puzzlers. It's a halloween puzzle so we're challenging you to finish by October 31, but it's not going to be easy.

October's Book Recommendation
Lillie Silva knew life as an empty nester would be hard after her only child left for college, but when her husband abruptly dumps her for another woman just as her son leaves, her world comes crashing down. Besides the fact that this announcement is a complete surprise (to say the least), what shocks Lillie most is that she isn't...heartbroken. She's furious . Should she release a skunk into her ex’s perfect new home? Probably not! However, it beats staying home and moping.
