The Last Kids on Earth book 3 follows Jack and his friends as they face a powerful new villain who threatens the world in a much bigger and scarier way. The danger isn't just physical in this book i is also fear, doubt, and confidence that become major challenges for the team. Jack struggles with leadership and feeling responsible for everyone's safety. The group must stick together and use both courage and brains to stand a chance. It is much darker than the other books that came before, but it is still filled with humor.
Jack, June, Quint, and Dirk are very entertaining characters with interesting backstories. Jack is a person who has bounced from home to home and doesn't want to let go of his friends. Just like the first book, the cover shows the main characters and also the antagonist. It shows you what the book is going to be about. I loved the book due to the antagonist, "The Nightmare King," which could invade minds and manipulate fear. Make nightmares feel real.
