A New Season Begins
Feederwatch has begun for this year. The birdseed finally came it, a little late is better than never. The feeders have only had nyjer seed in them, so of course it will take the birds a little time to realize that the good stuff is back. The weather has been a bit warmer than typical for this time of year, so many birds are still foraging naturally, but that doesn't stop the hoard of house sparrows from descending on the feeders. Peter Pan Book Hike
The afternoon of Tuesday, September 19, 2023, we held our fist book hike, celebrating J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan. This program was done in partnership with the North Smithfield Land Trust. We were able to create Neverland in their Booth Pond Conservation Area. New Wildlife Camera Photos
We reinstalled the camera in the wildlife garden and we collected some great photos from the last few months. We had some new visitors to the yard that we haven't seen before. Check out the beautiful picture of the fox, who has been hanging around the area for the last few months. Right now we have a limited collection of these books, but we are hoping to get more as they are released, so we are limited the circulation to 1 per family at the moment.
